Keilyn is a native New Yorker whose personal experiences have shaped her understanding of identity, culture, family, and the many transitions that can influence how we see ourselves. Growing up in a Hispanic household, she experienced the importance of family traditions while also navigating expectations surrounding identity, gender roles, communication, and responsibility. Her own journey taught her the importance of having a voice while creating a space to discover who you are beyond the expectations placed upon you. Keilyn brings this understanding into her work with clients, particularly those who may feel stuck between who they have been expected to be and who they are becoming.
Keilyn earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from City College of New York and her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Manhattan University. Throughout both undergraduate and graduate school, she worked full-time while managing the demands of school, work, and personal health concerns. Although balancing these responsibilities was challenging, the experience strengthened her resilience and deepened her empathy for individuals who are trying to keep moving forward while navigating circumstances that others may not see. Her professional experiences include working with nonprofit organizations supporting children, families, and immigrant communities. Keilyn also provided counseling to kids and young adults. Keilyn works with children, young adults, and any individual exploring identity, self-esteem, life transitions, and the lasting impact of earlier experiences.
Keilyn believes that therapy begins with meeting clients where they are and not where they feel they are supposed to be. She strives to create a space where clients can show up authentically, without fear of judgment while feeling genuinely heard and understood. Through collaboration, compassion, curiosity, and authenticity, Keilyn helps clients explore their experiences to help them better understand themselves and what they truly want for their lives. She believes that you do not have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy, sometimes, therapy is where you begin figuring it out. Whether a client is struggling to understand who they are, healing from past experiences, or navigating a difficult transition, Keilyn is committed to walking alongside them as they discover who they are and work toward becoming the person they hope to become.
